My DIY Concert Tee

These photos are ones that I forgot to post from April. They are from a concert that I went to at the Oakland Oracle. The concert was for my favorite Spanish rock group Mana. The concert itself was amazing! I have gone to other Mana shows before and this one was by far, the best one yet.

So in keeping up with the whole concert experience, I decided to take the shirt that I purchased from the concert and turn it into a fringe tank. I like that I cut the sides of the arm holes lower because if wanted to,I could wear a bandeau bra and have it peek out from the sides like the girls are doing nowadays. Hmm....but we'll see if I can get myself to pull that off.

It was a good thing that I decided to buy a men's shirt rather than a women's shirt because it gave me the room to play around with how I was to cut it up. Oh and again, sorry for the picture heavy post but I couldn't help myself.
I truly, as you guys can see, enjoyed twirling around in this shirt because it made the fringe go all crazy-like. It sort of made me feel like a little girl again.

Anyways I hope you guys all enjoyed your weekend. As for me, I did except for the fact that my hot air balloon ride was cancelled due to high winds but don't worry, I will have more on that in another post. Talk to ya later guys! Byeeeeeee!!!!!

Some Me TIme

I know I have been absent from the blogging world for a while, and I know I have said that I would stick to it, but as the great John Lennon said: "Life is what happens to you, while you're busy making other plans." Let me just say... Boy is that true!

As for the outfit, I decided to tone down the girlyness of the dress by adding my thrifted denim jacket and my gladiator sandals. I like the fact that by adding said items, it made the outfit a bit more casual.

As the title says having some me time is exactly what happened on this particular day. I got the day off from work that day and it was definitely long overdue. I had to run some errands in the morning but the rest of the day was spent, watching some movies, and then making a quick run to my local record store to stock up on some new vinyl. I found David Bowie's, The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from mars album for only 4.00!

It's definitely hard to find some cheap vinyl at record stores nowadays, most especially in good condition. But lately I have been getting lucky! I usually like to look for vinyl at thrift stores because first of all they are cheaper, and secondly, the thrill of finding a good record amongst a bunch of duds, is always exciting for me.

I also got to spend some time with my good friend and my awesome brother. We played some Mario on the Wii, had some wine, and then we watched an awesome classic 80's movie; Sixteen Candles. I just love that movie, most especially the part where the popular pretty girl gets her hair cut off by her drunk friends! lol. Which 80s movies are your favorite?

Free as a Bird

I must warn you guys, this post is definitely picture heavy. But what can I say...I'm using my Canon T2i! Woohoo! Isn't the quality wonderful?!

I love the crisp and sharp way the pictures come out and the zoom on this baby is awesome! I just knew that my first time shooting with it, had to be when I wore this new pretty crochet top I purchased from Forever 21. I love how it can be worn with many things, and the first thing that came to mind when I bought it was "festival time!"

I could definitely see myself rocking this baby at summer festivals and such places like that. Oh yeah and speaking of festivals, did I mention that I will be going to the Outside Lands Festival in August?! I will be seeing for the first time, one of my favorite bands: Metallica, and not to mention; Beck, Foo Fighters, Regina Spektor, and countless others! I simply cannot wait to revel with my fellow concert goers, and get to experience all these wonderful bands and hear some awesome music firsthand.

I cannot wait for summer to arrive because not only do I plan on catching some rays, but I also plan to attend many friend gatherings, go swimming, and most importantly; COZUMEL!!!! Yes, in July I will be going to Cozumel, Mexico for the first time!

I'm really excited about my vacation to Cozumel because I haven't travelled anywhere since 2003, so I am LONG overdue. Have any of you ever been there and if so, do you guys recommend any places to see or things to do while I'm there?

Comments are greatly appreciated and they make my day, so feel free to drop a line or two! Have a good day everyone!!!!

It was the best of times...

This is the last of the photos I had from my Canon digital Elph, and it wasn't that I meant to shoot with this camera but it was my carelessness that made me use it. I was getting ready to shoot with my precious new baby, the Canon T2i but little old me, forgot to put in the SD Card in the camera! Thus making it hard for me to save my pictures.

However, I was thankful that I had my trusty digital elph with me to save the day. It was a very windy day when I took these pictures, so don't mind my windblown frizzy hair. What can I say, a girl's got to keep it real! HAHA

As for the outfit, I wanted to wear something that had a bit of a pop, hence the teal sweater. I thrifted this baby along with a few other things at a thrift store in Petaluma, and boy, was I happy when I got it! I had been wanting a sweater in this shade for awhile, and I almost bought one at forever 21 but luckily, I decided to wait and found this one instead! Isn't the color just to die?!
As for the floral skinnies, I bought these 2 years ago at forever 21 and I'm really happy I did because I just knew they would be back in style again! What attracted me most about these pants is not only that they are floral, but that the florals are in the colors of teal, yellow, and light green...perfect for Spring!

I wish I would have taken a closer shot of the print on my pants but I had to hurry up and take the pictures before the rain came. Which in like 5 minutes after I took the last picture of the backpack... it started!  Oh well, atleast I managed to take some decent pictures!

She's Crafty!!

My first serious sewing project! I am in the midst of making these floral throw pillow covers for my sofas, to make my apartment more me. It's turning out pretty good so far, so I'm kind of proud about it. You guys know I loooove florals, and what better way to show how much I love them; than by exhibiting them on my couches for all to see! I could do a tutorial on them, but I don't know. Seeing how this is my first time making them, I may not be a good teacher to show you all. But I don't know...you guys tell me! Comments and opinions much appreciated.
