My New Vintage Dress!

An outfit post.... YAY! I just quickly wanted to share with you guys my outfit I opted to wear to my last, Christmas season workday. With all the green and reds in it, I figured it was appropriate to show some holiday spirit in it at work.

This dress i scored for a mere $10.00 at Chick-a-Boom vintage in Petaluma and boy, was I a happy camper! I bought it some time in the summer thinking that I would wear it then, but somehow I'm glad I saved it for Christmas because it seems to fit it better.

I really like the way this dress fits me, except for one thing; the  length. My co-worker who knows how to sew will shorten it to the knee for me, so that then.... it will be perfect! Oh.... and I apologize for the lack of outfit posts, but somehow I feel like I am missing the blogging spirit. But not too worry, I am determined to find it once again and start my regular posting. Even if it means coming up with outfits that make no sense! If there are outfits that make no sense. Oh well..... it's off to enjoy my pre- Christmas Eve with a holiday movie marathon. Happy Christmas everyone!

A Touch of Red

Excuse the absence but I have been busy getting ready for the holidays and preparing for a pajama party I am throwing at my house. In fact it will be tomorrow! I hope to have a different kind of outfit pictures after that happens, so stay tuned.

This outfit was from a couple of weeks ago and I hadn't posted it because I don't really like the way the pictures came out but I figured I would post them anyways to have some movement on here. I remixed this skirt in a different way from the last time.

I like the skirt but not with the top. I feel that the length of the skirt should be a bit shorter because it makes me look kind of dowdy. Sorta school teacher-esque. Oh well might as well embrace it.

Tall like a Tree She Stood

Please excuse the lighting in these shots, but I only had a few minutes to take advantage of the weather before I had to go back to work. I am hoping to take better pictures soon, for I am saving up to buy a better camera but for now, this will have to do.

I decided to stick with these colors because one, I did not have anything to wear (yeah right) and two, it was a very warm outfit in which kept me nice and comfortable throughout the cold day. I really like how the colors all came together. I know that this particular pink isn't a color that is trending right now but as far as I'm concerned, it works great for Fall. It also looks very nice with greens and browns. So what do you guys think?

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Sorry for the one day late post but with the festivities, it was hard to get my pics up on time. However, they are only up a few minutes late after Thanksgiving, so I am not counting it as such. Let me just also add that The whole Black Friday hoopla is CRAZY!

Me and my family decided to abruptly end our Thanksgiving day feast only to go to Walmart and join in on the Black Friday craze. But let me tell you, the moment we got there we noticed two mile long lines wrapping around the store only to GET IN! We spent 30 minutes finding a parking, only to decide to turn back around and forgo the madness. I mean who wants to stand in a mile long line only to get in, while freezing your butt off in 40 degree weather!

Well certainly not me and most certainly not in the above outfit, with only a light jacket to keep me warm. No siree! I think I prefer to face the crowd in much warmer weather later on today. Besides, no one likes getting trampled on.
So as for the outfit, I really enjoyed being able to wear my two new fall colored pieces. My skirt and my rust colored tights. It really was the perfect outfit for Thanksgiving. However, I would have liked to have worn them with boots to keep my toes warm. Oh well, better luck next year. So how was your Thanksgiving and what outfits did you decide on?

Black Velvet If You Please

So to stay up to trend with today's fashion driven world, I decided to indulge myself in thrifting a whole lot of velvet pieces. This floral, velvety top being one of them. I actually like how it came together with this outfit. It gave it a fancier look.

I'm not too happy with how much I paid for it, but I just had to have  it! I mean not only are the flowers velvety black, but the collar and trim are also velvet! How much more awesome can this get?! But to have paid 14.00 for a consigned item was WAY too expensive!

Oh well, at least it's pretty and I love the way it looks. I also decided to add some burgundy socks to pull together the flowers on my cardigan. I was sort of going for a dark romantic look. Turned out good, right?! So are any of you indulging yourselves in this season's Velvet trend? If so, what pieces did you acquire?

FALL- ing In Love

FALL- ing In Love

Fall is officially here and I am loving it! Well actually, except for the fact that I am currently fighting a cold, it's okay, I'll live. So with Fall, comes pretty sweaters, dresses, tights, and SHOES! So I ended up buying these in brown and to my bad fortune, they didn't fit! I wa so unhappy because I have been waiting for these babies to arrive so that I could wear them with outfits I had planned. So I had to ship them right back to get a smaller size. As soon as I get them though, I plan to show off these bad boys on here, so stay tunned for that.
But anyways it got me thinking about other pretty things I would like to acquire for this weather and this is what I came up with. The one thing I don't really, really, need is that particular owl ring BUT any similar one would work just fine. I did buy a pretty owl ring from Forever 21 but that one broke the moment I put it on. I hate that I only just bought it and then it has to go and brake on me. But I guess that's what I get for buying cheap jewelry.
So are there any things that you guys are coveting for this Fall? Dresses, Shoes, Handbags anyone?

Happy Halloween prt 2

I'm Minnie Mouse! I just had to be her! I mean, there's just so much resemblance between us: she's fashionable, she's cute, and we both love CHEESE! Why wouldn't I be her?! Ha Ha!

As for the dress....I MADE IT! Originally this dress was floor length and had two slits running up the leg, probably a prom dress or something. So what I just did was, cut it up and added some trimming, and the rest is history! Oh and to top it all off, I belted it and added my newly thrifted Chloe inspired Nine West Mary Janes! I really like the mirrored effect on the heel. Tre cool!

So what costumes did you guys wear? Handmade or Store bought?

Fall Ready

Fall WAS here! Oh and by WAS, I mean that literally. This outfit was from early last week when it actually felt like Fall. However, as I write this a few days later, it has turned into Summer. Summer, for crying out loud!!! Who would have thought that it would turn into summer just a few days after?!

Oh well, that's California for ya. So anyways.... this outfit was mainly created around the skirt. I thrifted this pretty skirt with my mom a few weeks ago and boy was I lucky to have found this beauty! It is the only one other thing I have in my closet that is mustard colored. So to mix it up, I decided to throw on this floral green blouse to pull the look together. Came out kinda nice if I do say so myself. What do you guys think?
