It's a 1960's kind of Day

The next two pictures were left intentionally in their original colors.

Vest: Thrifted
Shirt: Target(DIY)
Jeans, Clogs: Jcpenny's
Necklace, Ring: Forever 21

Today my mother, niece, and I, all headed to Napa to go on a thrifting/ consignment adventure to do a bit of shopping. I was on the lookout for the cutest little sofa set that I had seen the last time my mom and I went to Consign & Design but it was gone! I had my mind set on this sofa for my apartment that I will be moving into in August, but now that it's gone, I will have to find something else. Grrr!!!!
As for the outfit; I wanted to wear this cute little 1960's vest I thrifted for $2.00 at a secondhand shop that my mom and dad discovered in town. So....since it was from the 60's, I decided to pair it with my slightly flared Chip & Pepper jeans and these clogs that I got from Jcpenny's a long time ago, to really give it that 1960's affect. I think it worked! What do you guys think????

Take a Picture

Embroidered Sweater, slip: Forever 21
SkirtH&M
Flats:Chinese Laundry

Today, was such a busy day at work that I had so much down time. I proceeded to look for thing or two online, but I couldn't think of anything to look up! You know there's a problem when things are so slow,
that you run out of things to surf on at the web! I mean come on already..... I WANNA WORK!!! J/K
As for the skirt ensemble, I decided to wear this skirt because of the colors and because it has FLOWERS! Yep.... flowers, my favorite print!
So as you can see above, it was a very windy day, which made it hard for me to control my skirt. But thank goodness I tamed it a bit in some pictures; I was almost starting to feel like Marilyn Monroe for a minute there! The wind was super crazy and super cold! I ask you...... where is summer for crying out loud??!! I'm ready to wear my pretty dresses, skirts, and feel the hot sun on my skin!
As for the title of this post, I picked it because of the song: "Take a Picture" by Filter. It happened to pop into my head while my photographer was taking the pictures, and just like when the song says: " I feel like a newborn" it was exactly how I felt at that particular time. Ah the memories! Take a listen.....

Midi Maxi Skirt

Cardigan, Tank: Target
Skirt: Thrifted
Sandals: Sway
Necklace, Belt: Forever 21

Let me just say: I love this outfit!!!! Yeah, I know I said that myself but who cares?! I do! What I like most about it is the skirt. I got it from this really dirty thrift store, which I happened to find along with this one. That was a really bad experience in which my poor mom ended up with this bad sneezing fit, due to all the dust in the store. Needless to say, we will NOT be going back!
So anyways, this outfit ended up being perfect for today because it was finally sunny. I really like the length of this skirt because it allows me to show a bit of leg without going all out. Oh and the floral print is another plus! It's good to know that some good came out of that bad thrift store experience. Have you guys had any bad thrift/vintage store experiences????

To Chambray or Not To Chambray

Chambray Top, Belt: Target
Slacks: Mervyn's
Purse: TJ Maxx
Flats: Chinese Laundry

As you can see from the more fixed up look; today was a work day. A very long, boring, and uneventful work day. What made it even worse, was the fact that it was a beautiful day, FINALLY, and I did not get to enjoy it! I had to watch everyone outside of my work's window enjoy the sun and the warmth after week's of gloom and ugly.
This outfit, was a last minute decision thing. However, I love this chambray button-up and I'm very happy that Target, made it possible for me to have it. So thanks guys!
Since I had no clue what to wear this morning, this is what I came up with, and as far as my fellow co-workers were concerned, it was "cute". So I guess...mission accomplished! Oh and the belt, that was thrown in to complete the look. What do you guys think??? Too casual for work or just right?

80's Throwback

Cardigan: Nordstrom Rack
Tank: Target
Skirt: Vintage
Tights: Ross
Flats: Chinese Laundry
Ring: Forever 21
Sunnies: Rayban

The eighties......YAY! Everyone loves to reminisce a little about this awesome time, and why not celebrate, by wearing a High-waisted print skirt! I got this skirt at this awesome vintage store called: Static. It was during my excursion with the parentals in San Francisco on Haight Street. What can I say, except that when I saw this skirt, it was love at first sight! The colors were so vibrant, and the fit was not bad either! It was nice to hear that even the lady at the register noticed the fit on me as well, and gave me a very nice compliment. Thank you Static register lady!
By the way....... wearing this outfit makes me want to sit back, have some popcorn, and watch all the brat pack movies my little heart desires. Who's with me???!!!

Under My Umbrella

This is what I feel like when it's raining.

Peek-A-Boo, I See You!

Frayed Cardigan: Lauren Conrad (Kohl's)
Bow Tie Floral Tank: Forever 21
Slacks: Choice
Flats: Chinese Laundry
Umbrella: Hello Kitty Store (Sanrio)

So, as you guys can already guess, today, it was........... RAINING! Oh, and I don't mean that in a good way either. In fact, I hate the rain! So please, don't let the pictures above make you think otherwise.
Since I had some blog post settings to make up for, with the help from a certain someone, whose name shall remain a secret for a while; we opted to take some really cool pics in a smelly, yet filled with surprises place. Although the smell got a little too much to handle after a while, we still managed to take advantage of our pretty surroundings and do some picture-taking and giggling while we were at it. I can't even begin to tell you how much fun we had, that even the smell was worth it! So with that, I leave you with this quote by Dorothy Parker: Guns aren't lawful; nooses give; gas smells awful. So you might as well live.

Touch of Red

"Hi ho, hi ho,  it's off to work I go! " If any of you are wondering why I'm quoting from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, it's because of........  my red leather belt!  It reminds me of Snow White's red head bow; and just as her little friends were heading off to work,  so to was I. Believe me when I say,  I was not happy about that.  But I was very happy with my outfit! It was perfect for the weather and this time,  I had no problems with it! The Cashmere sweater I am wearing was given to me by my mother,  who had an accident with the laundry and this ended up getting shrunk. So because of that,  she decided she couldn't part with her beloved sweater and instead opted to give it to her darling daughter which was already waiting for it with open arms. Thanks mom, and thanks to the laundry for shrinking it to my size!

A Skirt to Remember

Sweater: Target
Skirt: Thrifted
Necklace: Forever 21
Flats: Chinese Laundry

Sometimes the unexpected is a good thing, it can make you see things in ways you never thought of before, it can open your eyes to something new and exciting, or it can make you blind to certain things. Take for example this skirt....when I first saw it I thought, "It's perfect!" But then I realized, it wasn't! You guys can't really tell but this skirt is too big for me, it kept clinging to my tights, and the length was longer than I thought! But I still like it because of the color and the pretty pattern, so even though it has all those things I still see it's true beauty. It's like most things in life, you take things as they come. Any ideas of how I can remix this skirt???

Camera Love

Camera Love

Okay.....so this camera I am showing is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2. However, this is not the one that I am lusting for. The one I want is the unreleased Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3, which I couldn't find a picture for but basically looks just like this. Isn't it just gorgeous?! I am hoping the G3 comes out in this gorgeous blue and falls right into my hands with all it's blue dazzle. But if it doesn't, then I will have to settle for black. I mean.....it does go with everything, right?! Any suggestions as to any other SLR that might just strike my fancy?!
